Holistic Psychotherapy

Holistic Psychotherapy is an integrative practice where a person's mind, body, and spirit are considered for assessment and treatment. This process blends traditional psychotherapy methods and non-traditional therapies of holistic healing to create a fuller integration between the mind, body, and spirit while accomplishing the deepest level of healing possible. Holistic psychotherapy primarily looks at psycho-emotional difficulties from an emotional, spiritual and energetic perspective and is focused on helping to heal the root cause of the issue.

Holistic Approaches

Holistic modalities may be incorporated into sessions such as:

  • Comprehensive Energy Psychology

  • Yoga and meditation

  • Mindfulness Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Somatic Psychology and embodiment practices such as Pranayama (deep breathing exercises), visualization, and Progressive Muscle Relaxation

  • Sound Healing focuses on the body’s energy centers and meridian points.

The spiritual component is perhaps what sets Holistic Psychotherapy apart from traditional methods.  In this context, spirituality does not necessarily refer to religion.  During sessions, themes of interconnectedness, soul purpose, intuition, and exploration of the meaning of life and experiences are discovered and integrated into healing. The outcomes of this integrative psychotherapy approach are usually a deeper awareness of self and a connection to one’s wisdom and innate healer.
